THE GINARITA
We all know and (many of us) love a classic Margarita. If like me you absolutely love this ziggy feisty little cocktail, then you are not going to be disappointed with this clever twist on a classic… THE GINARITA
50ml Gin
25ml Orange Liqueur
25ml Fresh Lime Juice
Fresh Lime to garnish
Salt flakes to rim glass
Wet the rim of a glass and press it firmly in a saucer of salt flakes (or tajin*) to rim the edge. Pop lots of large ice cubes into your rimmed glass. Fill a shaker with ice and add the gin, orange liqueur and lime juice. Shake and strain the drink into your glass. Garnish with a slice of lime (cucumber also works great as a garnish for this cocktail!).
*Tajin is a chilli lime salt commonly used as a seasoning in Mexico. To make it at home, combine 1 tbsp chilli powder, 1 tsp lime zest, 1/2 tsp of ground cumin, 1/4 tsp each of cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, ground coriander and salt with 1/8 tsp of sugar.
“This cocktail works so well with No.6 Soulmate as it really compliments the fresh zesty lime… a great addition to spice up that Mexican meal!”
